Since the people I'm writing about today only knows the Norwegian words "kjøttkaker", "tusentakk" and "hvit vin" I think I'm gonna make myself more understandable and write in English.
Yall have taken me to so many places in the US. New Orleans in Louisiana, Disney World in Florida, Birmingham in Alabama, Destin in Florida, Memphis in Tennessee, Atlanta in Georgia and more. Yall have made me eat fried pickle, catfish and crawfish, drink sweet tea and real lemonade. Yall have introduced me to the amazing cinnamon roll and Sonic blasts. Let us not forget about my one true fast food love - Chick Fil A. Yall brought me to the State fair. There is so much yall have done to make my exchange year as American as it gets. At the same time yall have wanted to learn about Norway and my culture. Yall made Norwegian meatballs and julemenn. Yall ate my Norwegian candy even though some of it was a little too salty (hehe Jungelvrål). Even when I brought my brown cheese yall wanted to try it. "Learn Norwegian" apps have been downloaded and questions have been asked. And I love it. Yall trying to make me a little bit more American while trying to become a little bit more (familiar with the) Norwegian. I am so grateful for all of it.
Thank you, Kim. Thank you for being patient and understanding when I ask silly questions. For helping me out whenever I have a problem. Thank you for reading Visit Norway articles and asking me about all these traditions I have never even heard off and for trying your best to learn Norwegian.
Thank you, Michael. Thank you for all the times you've made me laugh with your hilarious comments. For being understanding and helping. Thank you for letting me pick Chick Fil A for dinner and for still laughing at my hairline jokes.
Thank you, Gage. Thank you for texting me in Norwegian and for making fun of my English. Thank you for introducing me to baseball.
Thank you, Karigan. Thank you for letting me be your roomie for a year. For all the TV episodes and Harry Potter movies you have watched with me in bed. Thank you for being my bestest of friends and for picking me up after school every day.
Thank you Braden. Thank you for being the little brother I never got. For being sweet and a little annoying at the same time, just like it is supposed to be. Thank you for being proud of me when I hit my first ever baseball and for letting me watch whenever you play your videogames.
Thank you Piper. Thank you for letting me be your extra sister. For making me bookmarks and drawings. Thank you for calling me your favorite Norwegian and for taking funny selfies with me.
Nine months ago yall picked me up at Jackson airport, made me a part of the family and now yall are my second family.
I can never thank yall enough.
